The sides played to a 3-3 draw in the first leg and a 1-1 draw in the second, but it was Real Madrid advancing on the strength of the three goals it scored away from home. Since then, Madrid has kept the positive results rolling with a 3-2 win over rival Barcelona and a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad to improve to 26-6-1 in LaLiga play and a spot in first with 84 points. Joshua Kimmich found the back of the net in the 63rd minute and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made three saves in a clean sheet performance to seal Bayern’s spot in the semis. Bayern Munich has a 22-3-6 record and 69 points and enters the week in second position in the German Bundesliga standings. Real Madrid have the advantage of a much cleaner bill of health than Bayern Munich, as Jude Bellingham (illness), Rodrygo (illness) and Ferland Mendy (undisclosed) are expected to return today. Carlo Ancelotti does have one absence to plan around though as Dani Carvajal is suspended, with Lucas Vazquez expected to take his place. Thibault Courtois (knee) has returned to Madrid's squad after recovering from his long-term injury but is not expected to feature today. Sane and Gnabry, meanwhile, have both practiced with the team. One bit of good news for Bayern is that Alphonso Davies is available again after serving his one-game suspension against Arsenal.
